Who We Are
Michelle’s love of dogs began at a very early age.
While my first dog was extremely cuddly, it wasn’t quite enough and I quickly moved on to the real thing. Always surrounded by dogs and cats, I learned the impact that they can have on someone’s life.
We have always been amazed at the power of a dog’s unconditional love and the sheer joy they bring into our lives. When our beloved Zoe began to show signs of aging, we began to look for ways to help ease her pain through food and supplements. Though Zoe has passed on, this was the beginning of the adventure that has landed us in Fido’s Market. Through continued research, we learned so much about dog food and what should and shouldn’t be in it. I was overwhelmed by the amount of information and the lack of knowledgeable staff in stores. I kept thinking “if only someone had told me….”
Through years of feeling that I wanted to do more, that I wanted make a bigger impact on the world, I became more and more dissatisfied with working in the corporate world. And then finally one day, I literally woke up and knew “it’s not a job, it’s a business.” Though we researched many ideas on what this business should be, we always came back to the same thing – a store for dogs and cats. But we knew we wanted it to be more than just any other store, but also a place where you can learn about your pets, their nutrition and their carbon pawprint.
Sasha (our German Shepherd) and Daisy May (our Samoyed) join me in the store almost daily. Stop in and see us. We’re looking forward to meeting your Fido!
