Who We Are
Introducing Lisa, the owner of Fido’s Market. Lisa has been a loving and caring pet person her entire life. As a little girl her family had German Shepherds, Cocker Spaniels, and several cats, all of which she adored. She has been an advocate for pet rescue and rescued several dogs and cats long before the formation of the modern pet rescue organizations, for which we are all so grateful. Over the past six years she volunteered for the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta where she cared for many of these gentle giants and also adopted and rehabilitated our very own “Ashley”.
Fido’s Market is the next chapter in Lisa’s journey, understanding the importance of good nutrition and it’s effect on a pet’s quality of life drive her on a daily basis. As the owner of Fido’s Market, Lisa see’s real purpose in educating the community and giving back through the various rescues that she continues to support.
I have loved animals since I could talk. I have always had a dog and other animals throughout my life, but it wasn’t until I was 16 and I had “my” first dog (a rescue lab mix) that I knew I wanted to work with animals. I have fostered for lab rescue, worked in a doggy daycare, gone through school as a dog trainer, and worked with a wonderful positive reinforcement trainer. I have also started agility lessons and taken great interest in dog sports.
My current dog Shadow, a Flat-Coated Retriever, has been battling food and environmental sensitivities since he was just under a year old in 2011. This led me down the path of raw diets, limiting vaccines, and using more holistic treatments for out of balance minds and bodies. My background led me to Fido’s and I am absolutely loving it!!!
P.S. If your pup is battling allergies, I totally sympathize with you!!!
Ever since the day I was born animals of all shapes and sizes have been an essential part of my life. I’ve had the pleasure of having several different types of dogs and cats, as well as horses and other assorted farm animals, always in my life. My first dog I consider mine was a White German Shepherd X Husky rescue named Joey. Joey was typical Husky with a sensitive stomach but we loved him nonetheless. He was my introduction to alternate diets to the “grocery store” feeds. Sadly we found cancer in his liver and we had to put him down, but that led me to my current Belgian Sheepdog, Gracie. Gracie and her adopted rescue brother Auggie (flat coated retriever) have been a part of my life for the last 10 years and I’ve been beyond happy. We also have recently added a feline companion back into our family much to everyone’s delight. Her name is Chanel and she’s a 3 year old Himalayan cat with some allergy problems that we’ve had to work through.
We started with the more holistic treatments with Gracie just after her rescue when the Vet’s meds for her mild Kennel Cough weren’t working, but the natural remedies have. Since then we’ve kept them grain free and healthy! I’ve been excited to bring my small and large animal health knowledge into a new avenue as well as learning more to help my babies be their best!
I have been grooming pets in the Alpharetta area since 2001. I have attended several training seminars in the competitive grooming circuit and enjoy sharing the latest trends with my clients. Animals are my passion and I totally enjoy helping families keep their dogs beautiful , happy and healthy.
The founder of Fido’s Market, we wish Michelle and Jeff the very best on all the adventures that await them. We are so proud of all that they accomplished with Fido’s Market and feel privileged to continue that journey.
